The University has two campuses – one in Chester and another in nearby Warrington. There are currently over 14,500 students at the University, which offers a warm and vibrant environment for students of all backgrounds and cultures.
Since opening in 1839, the Chester campus has grown and changed radically to become a modern, 21st century campus. Recent investment has seen the development of a brand new purpose-built students’ union facility, as well as a refurbishment of the learning resources centre.
Social and leisure activities are an important and long-established part of Chester campus life. On-campus sports facilities include squash courts, a fitness and leisure centre, swimming pool, sports hall and floodlit all-weather pitch. Most of the student accommodation is on or near the campus, which benefits from an abundance of green space, various cafes and dining halls, and a launderette. The campus is only a short walk from Chester city, which was founded as a Roman fortress nearly 2,000 years ago and has managed to retain its unique character whilst offering everything that you would expect from a modern city.
At Warrington, the University provides innovative, forward-looking courses with specific focus in two main areas: public sector and creative industries. The campus also offers excellent teaching, social and recreational facilities.
